1K Kid's Fun Run

THE CAUSE: During the past eight years, over $25,000 has been donated to various relief efforts. The main benefactor of the annual 5K Run is the United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR). Through UMCOR proceeds have been used to aid relief efforts in Japan, Haiti, the Congo, Women in Development, Darfur, the Phillipines, and the Sudan. Race proceeds have also been donated to both local and international organizations such as the Utah Food Bank, Huntsman Cancer Institute, Volunteers of America's Homeless Youth Resource Center (SLC), the Fisher House (SLC), the Ronald Mc Donald House, Central Asia Institute, and the Utah/Southern Idaho Multiple Sclerosis Society.
THE COURSE: The 5K course winds through the Millcreek neighborhood around CUMC. It is a USATF certified 5K course. There is water along the course with goodies at the finish. The Kids 1K fun run begins at 8:30 am and will be on the church property. The 5k Run/Walk starts at 9am.
Age group awards and door prizes will be presented. The Clergy Cup will also be presented to the fastest clergy. There is also complimentary on-site childcare available.
